Hi, I was real happy to hear rthere is a Fayette county list. Almost all my ancestors ended up there LOL. I haven't seen any mail yet so thought I would be bold and write. I'm real brave on puter but shy otherwise :-)) I would like to find a connection for the Vandalia Currys and all the Currys in Shelby County. I have Adam Samuel and Martha J. Murray Curry having my great grandfather in 1842 in KY-Anderson Curry who married Elizabeth Ann (Betsey) Pruett. Anderson and Betsey had several children in Vandalia and the area. My grandfather was George Benjamin Curry who married Ella Amelia Schulte. Their son Anderson Rudolph Curry was my father. He married Clara Juanita Boaz. I would love to hear from any connections to these families. I just feel there has got to be a connection there somewhere- there were bunches of Currys in Shelby Co. Hope some one has the answer to my puzzle. Thanks, Dianne Curry Morris
I received this message from you
It looks like the lists are down. I mean all the RootsWeb lists. I have no idea what is going on, but if you get this then it's not down! LOL Now, that really makes sense! Terry
Well, this is really far more than I expected to happen this soon! I am so glad that the list has been received with such enthusiasm! This was an experiment, on my part, and really wasn't sure if it would turn out good or a Bomb out. Well, don't think I have to worry about that! I am subscribed on the List mode, and think I may just go to the Digest mode. (My mail boxes are jamb packed as it is)... Now, some have asked about the difference between the List mode and the Digest Mode...since I didn't know for sure how it worked, I went and got the answer...here it is. The List mode brings you the messages as they are sent, individually. The Digest mode sends you all the messages in one package, about every 3 days, or when it reaches 60K characters. (whichever comes first) Now a few pointers...for those of you that are more Net savvy, remember that you had to learn too. There may be a lot of people coming to this mail list that don't know some of the 'common' rules, and patients and help by those that do know goes a long way. One very important request that I do ask of all of you...Please do not send large files, or attachments on the list. That will shut a list down faster than most things. If you are trying to send a file to another, send it to them directly, and not on the list. I'm new at all of this List maintenance - so have patients with me too...I'll be doing my best. If you do have any problems, or have any questions...e-mail me directly. [email protected] , since I will be going on the Digest mode, it might be best that way. I may not know the answer right away, but I will find out, and/or try to take care of the problem...as soon as I find out how! Enjoy this list, and I hope it helps all of you with your searches for ancestors in your family trees! That's what it's for! Margie, What Linda actually wrote was a History of Bingham. It's a small pamplet type book. I am writing a book on the first families of Fayette County with a lot of help from cousins. There are many different people tracing thier families and we are trying to organize what is out there so far. Tell me what you need and I will send whatever I have that will help. Your best bet for Fayette County is: Linda Hanabarger e-mail [email protected] she is the editor of Fayette Facts, the quarterly magazine for Fayette County. Linda knows who is researching what lines and usually has some information.
