    1. GUTHRIE -BOAZ
    2. Dianne and Gary especially -- Guthrie link: Albert Guthrie (1 May 1884 /14 May 1973) m Ottie Evans (14 Ju 1892 / 18 Jun 1957) in 1910 In the 1900 Census, Carson Twp, Albert GUTHRIE "lodger" with John and Zella Bolt. His parents were shown as born in IL, as Albert was. My mother tells me that Albert's father was William Guthrie, his siblings were John, Tom, Ed, and Jennie (Sluder). Diane: This info connects with your William GUTHRIE married to Emily BOAZ, with children Albert, Edmond, John, Mary Jane (m SLUDER), and Thomas. Gary: A semi-connect with your Mary Ann (Polly) GUTHRIE -- in the 1880 IL census, Bowling Green Twp, Fayette County: 1 Jackson GUTHRIE (62) with wife Mary L. (56) were both born in KY as was your Polly. children: Albert (30); Cynthia (22), John F. (22) --- TWINS?? Samuel (21) and a grandson, Willie Fleming (7) Some children born in KY and some in IL. Jackson was born in 1818 which could make him a possible brother to Polly, born 1803 in Cumberland Co, KY. 2 Carlin GUTHRIE (38) with wife Mary (25) were both born in IL. His parents were born in KY and hers in TN -- maybe Jackson & Mary's son?? chidlren: Alice (4) and Oscar (2) Hope this is of some help to you. Sorry I didn't record the page numbers of the census, but Uncle Albert GUTHRIE is a by-marriage uncle. I am working on his children, however, and expect more from his daughter Doris JONES in St.Elmo. His four children are my 1st cousins, one generation removed. Maybe we have some more "connects" out there for these GUTHRIE records? Isn't the net great! I have connected with several of my Fayette County NICHOLS cousins on-line. Let's keep on talking!! Margie Whitney ([email protected])

    1. Sidwell/Guthrie
    2. Gary Morrison
    3. Judith and Dianne and others, I am the one who posted the original message about Sidwells and Guthries. My ancestors are David Sidwell, born circa 1801 in Cumberland County, KY who married Mary Ann (Polly) Guthrie, born circa 1803 in Cumberland County, KY. They were married circa 1825 in Cumberland County, then moved to Fayette County, IL. David and Mary Ann moved to Davis County, IA in the 1840s. One of their children was Margret Sidwell, born October 27, 1835 in Fayette County. She married Conrad Moots Tharp in Davis County in February 1858. They are my gg grandparents. I have David as the son of William Sidwell and Mary Key. I show his siblings as Polly A., Lucinda, William, Amanda, Nathan, Mahala, Isaac Denton, Anne Elizabeth and Rebecca. I would like confirmation of that which is correct and correction on that which is wrong if anyone has information. I know there were several Sidwell/Guthrie marriages, but I know nothing of Mary Ann's parentage and which of the Guthries are siblings, if any. Help here would be appreciated. Fayette County information is rather sparse here in Iowa. Many thanks. 2. Looking for a second marriage for Elizabeth A (Dunn) Needham some time after 1863. Also looking for any thing about her 3 sons born after that date. Edwin Needham, Eugene Needham, and William Needham. All carry the name of supposed father but our records show William, husband of Eliz as dying in Civil War before these boys were born. Vandalia is the listed residance of Eliz and boys in 1870 and 1880. Thanks for any thing you might see. Annemaire

My grandmother was born 13, Feb. 1884 in Lowden, Fayette, IL. Her father was either John or Charles GRAY from PA. The only member of this family I have ever found information for was her sibling Charles Brady GRAY. Thanks, Dolores >
