I live in Colo Spgs Co now but but was raised in Ill in Madison Co ILL. I checked yourgrandfather's SS# and it started with the same numbers that mine did, so I am wondering if he lived in the southern part of Ill. I am going to the LDS library tomorrowand will check and see if I can find out anything for you. After you find out where he lived I can send you an address of different counties in Ill that does research free of charge, They are colleges and I have been able to get wills and probrate and also some land records, So I hope I can be of some help.
