Linda, Would the responses to the queries be deleted as well? I have gleaned many a tip from the threaded messages while searching for my BAILEY relatives. It's too bad all that information has to be lost. Even if they could be put on an informational page only - with no links - where a person could do an "Edit" "Find" search. Sometimes it's just the littlest bit of information that can open it wide open for someone else. I ran a little utility program that I have that checks for broken links and found that a good half of the posts prior to 2000 had bad email addresses. So..all the queries posted prior to 2000 have been deleted. That still leaves 5 years of queries on the site. In those 5 years, there are also many bad email addresses. If you have a posting there, please check to make sure that the email address is a good one. If not, email me so that I can update the address. I'll run the utility again at the end of July. At that time any posting on the queries list with a bad email address will be removed with no additional warning. Hope you understand what I'm doing and why... There are no threaded messages on the Genweb page. They are on the Ancestry/Rootsweb message boards. If you get an answer from a query on the genweb page, it is an email that goes directly to you and does not become part of the Genweb site. That's why so many people use the message boards....the thread is archived there.
