Maybe if you give them a brochure from Effingham County Genealogical and Historical Society, they would decide to purchase some of those publications. That's true. But they also check the Effingham County GenWeb site often to see what I have there. The list of the ECGH publications is there. They know what's for sale, they just don't want to buy them <grin>. They want mine, for free. They want me to donate them. They'll get them "eventually", but not now. And....I have made arrangements that all my family research, documents, etc. be given to the ECGH "eventually", rather than thrown in a dumpster, etc. That way, others can use what I've taken 40+ years to accumulate and organize. Come to think of it, how many on this mailing list have made provisions for all their hard work after they pass? If a family member is not interested, and no one in the family will continue or build upon your work, what will happen? Might be time to think about this..........to make sure that your work lives on.
