Kate, Did you want the whole book, or just a lookup for certain people? The Palm Springs library has an online subscription to Heritage Quest, which I can access with my library card number and do a lookup for you. Heritage Quest has not only the 1883 and 1910 Effingham Co. Histories, but the 1968 Effingham Co., IL Past and Present. These are all images of actual pages from these books. Many libraries offer Heritage Quest and/or Ancestry.com subscriptions for their patrons, if not for "at home" computers, at least for use on the library's computer. Yours might even have this available, too.
