Hi, Does anybody know if the Effingham County Clerk retains probate or guardianship documents for the decade 1835 through 1845? I did write to them and asked for a piticular probate but their response neglected to tell me if they even have these records (they sent names of researchers and stated that they didn't have time to do research) Would appreciate your help, Thanks Viki FYI: seeking probate records for Thomas Levitt died c.1845; wife Permelia Levitt died 1835-1845; both of Teutopolis, Effingham Co. They married 1833 Clay Co.IL. purchased land 1833 & 1835 in Effingham.
