I have twice, over the past year, sent in surname requests that I would love to be posted, and have not seen them posted. What am I doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong. It's my lack of time. I've been working 3 jobs for the past 2 years, and trying to keep house, too. Hopefully everything will be done by this weekend.
