    3. I received this message, which might be 'a source' for some Colonial Roots out of Virginia. Yes, it would be a trek, or maybe something to plan for, for next year? Don Silvius is one of the Administrators of the Shenandoah (VA) Gen Website. Because so many of my family lived and died in Shenandoah County, I have a real interest in the area as well as the people.  The second Saturday in April, we will be holding our third annual Shenandoah County Heritage Day.  This is at least, a "genealogy fair" and at most a "genealogists convention" - which is to say that in our first two years our attendance was over 200 and then over 300 people.  So we're not a secret in Shenandoah County.  Many many researchers have found new connections and cousins and made new friends.  We have a committee of 8 people who plan and arrange and plan some more to put on the event at no cost to anyone involved.  The only people who make money are the historical societies and non-profit organizations who attend, and the authors and the fire department who we rent the hall from.  I forgot, Shenandoah County sells books also.    Anyway, my point is, if you'd like to familiarize yourself with Shenandoah County, this would be a great time to do so.  Shenandoah County is about 90 minutes drive from Washington, DC and once you are on I-66, the next turn would be south on I-81 to get to Edinburg, where we hold Heritage Day.
