Hello all! I am looking for family info on James Beck, born in Harrison Co., OH around the year 1818 and who came to Effingham Co. around 1851. James married first to Maria Van Winkle, and when she died in 1852, he married Susan Hardsock on 07 Jul 1853. Susan was a niece to James' first wife. With Maria, James had the following known children: Susan b. c1844 Sarah b. c1846 Hester Elnora b. c1848 With Susan he had the following known children: William b. c1857 Mariah b. 1860 Margaret b. c1866 James died on 10 Feb 1893 and is buried in the Beck cemetery. I am interested in this man mainly because I have reason to believe (court documents filed against a man with this name) that he was the father to a son born out of wedlock in 1836 to my ancestor's daughter, Julia Ann Browning, back in Harrison Co., OH. I would therefore like to know about his children if possible, as they would be relations to the boy I speak of, Washington Browning.
