    3. You probably already know this. Joseph Poggemann was first married to Susannah Clark 1885, dtr of Mary Sophia Masquelett and Joseph T. J. Clark (Sophia's 2nd husband). Mary Sophia Masquelett was first married to John Wesley Phillips, son of John P. Phillips and Permelia Stallings. Susannah Clark Poggemann probably died 1885-1900, no children that I know of. Joseph Poggemann married Philomena abt 1904. 1880 Effingham Co, IL census search shows some Uptmor family. http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=census/searc h_census.asp 1870 Katrine Uptmore age 18 b IL is dtr of Charles & Elizabeth UPtmor ages 64 & 54 b OLD. Here it is: "Katherine Poggemann, 14, who is staying with Carrie Wernsing, had the misfortune of being scalded with boiling coffee on Wednesday February 27 (1929), before noon. Dr. Goebel was called to give treatment. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Poggemann." Hope this helps.... 3. My book, Teutopolis News as Reported in the Effingham Volksblatt 1884-1886 (see: http://www.brumleve.org) has 5 citations with the Poggemann family. One records the marriage of Joseph to Suzanne Clark as mentioned in Wanda's letter. Another tells us that Minna (probably Philomina) Poggemann was to be married in Cincinnati, but it doesn't mention the bridegroom. A B. Poggemann was elected to the city council. An 1886 citation mentions that B. Poggemann was then located in East St. Louis and working for the railroad. Hope this helps! Dorothy Brumleve
