I agree with Delores. It's a great idea! I just had to give up my Ancestry because of my budget this year. I would join Effingham Genealogical Society for use of the databases. That would also give me a reason to visit when I come up there next month. Faye

Last Fall I made the announcement to my family that a renewal of my membership in Ancestry.com would be my Christmas + Birthday Present. Yes, it does COST, but it worked out well. My husband was pleased not to have to shop; I didn't get more 'stuff' in an era where I'm trying to thin-things-out; for once the color & size were absolutely perfect; and, I was thrilled. It's not a way-to-go for everyone, but it worked for us. At some point I'll try out our Glenview Library's access, to see if it's the same or better. I believe HeritageQuest is available -- in house -- at the Lake Forest Library; but without a car, that's not a happenin' thing.
