Lawrence: When the Illinois State Archives microfilmed these newspapers for the Effingham County Genealogical Society they made an additional set for the Archives to keep on file. It is my understanding that newspaper microfilms can be ordered from the Illinois State Archives through inter-library loan. A good way to start would be to check out your own local library and see whether they can get these films on inter-library loan. If you have never tried reading old newspapers from the area where family lived you will find it can be pretty interesting, and with the use of a reader-printer you can copy anything you want. If the films are not available inter-library loan where you live then you might want to try scheduling a day at the library here in Effingham. You would find plenty of Effingham County records at your fingertips in the genealogy section to research your family.
