    3. For you all that use a genealogy software program to enter your information..I thought I'd share this. I don't have a monetary interest in this software, although I know Aaron Underwood, the developer/programmer, personally. He is very receptive to suggestions, and his support both direct and through his mailing list is exemplary. And best of all... Aaron is an Illinois native!!! <grin> The software program is called GenSmarts. I use it as an adjunct to my genealogy software program (The Master Genealogist). It is also compatible with other programs such as Family Tree Maker, PAF, Legacy, RootsMagic, Ancestral Quest and Ancestry Family Tree. What it does, is.. upon my command, goes in and "analyzes" my data, and provides ideas and suggestions for other places to look to fill in any "holes" I might have. It gives you the ability to "look outside the box". It has suggested places to look that I would never have thought of on my own. If a source is available on line, it shows that. It shows the free places, as well as the subscription places. If you don't have a subscription.for example to Ancestry, well then obviously you can't go there. But it will tell you what to look for so you can order films, etc. To check it out, go to: http://www.gensmarts.com/ There is a free trial there that you can download and evaluate. ....Just tossing this out for you. We all need things to make our research more productive and easier. This sure helps me. If you get Family Tree Magazine, you probably already know about this. That was my first exposure to the program.. (I found the Family Tree Magazine on the newsstand at Lang's in Effingham, across from the Courthouse on one of my visits home about a year or so ago). Let me know what you think!!! I think you'll like it. Linda
