    3. I am searching for ancestry information on a Jonah K. Long (My g grandfather) believed to have resided in central Illinois area around the turn of the century. Jonah's wife's name was believed to be Joyce (Dover<Maiden name) Long. Jonah's children were George, Emma, Stella and May. Jonah originally migrated to Illinios from Southeastern Ohio (Cambridge, Ohio area). Also looking for information on the "Long" family who resided in Christopher, Illinois during the 1920's and beyond I think. Family is as follows: Head: George Weston Long (My grandfather) Wife: Grace Agusta Long (My grandmother) Children: John, Frank, Chuck, Danny, Helen, Madeline, and there is belief that there may have been twins born also whom died during a flue epidemic. These children were born about/between 1908 and 1921. Helen (My Aunt) married and her married surname was Sims. Thanks for any information you may be able to share. 3. This one might take a little thought but the Effingham Co. Marriage book 1833-1877 says that John Randall and Eliza Jane Baily were married Mar 21 1854 by Jacob Bishop. M.G. I would question another marriage to Rankin. Eliza married William Lowder on Jan 5, 1860 and in the 1860 they are living in Ewington with Casse age two and Wyatt Bailie, possibly a brother to Eliza. She is only 20 then. Could it be that the husband that died was John Randell and not Rankin? 2. Now lets see if I get it right this time - I mistakenly sent this from our default email . . . I am looking for any information on the husbands of Eliza BAILEY, b. Sep 1839 in IN to Henry P. and Susan Landreth BAILEY. What I have found, and what I am missing is: Eliza married ? RANKIN. They had Viola RANKIN abt. 1857. Then he died. Who was Mr. RANKIN? Nora BAILEY has this as her first marriage. Eliza married Jobel J. RANDELL October 30, 1858. In the 1860 census she is living with he and his daughter Cassie (she was born abt. 1858-59, according to the 1860 census). What happened to Jobel and Cassie? I have been unable to find either of them after that. When and where was he born? Eliza married William LOWDER on January 05, 1860. In 1862 they had Henry Lowder. What happened to William? Eliza married Calvin AUSTIN March 08, 1865. They had - and this I'm not sure of - Frank H. AUSTIN in August of 1869. Were there any other children? When she died, her name was still Austin. In the 1900 census, Frank H. was living with Calvin and Eliza Jane, and they had been married 34 years. In The History of Effingham Co., Historical and Biographical, either the 1883 or 1910 version has her married to Calvin Austin. That is my timeline according to the children and some census information. Now here are my contradictions: IL Marriage Database shows Jobel J. Randell marrying Elizabeth A. Austin The 1860 census shows Cassie Randell living with Eliza and William Lowder.IL Marriage Database shows William Lowder marrying (Mrs.) Eliza Randell. I am so confused!! Is there any database out there that has early divorces for Illinois? Can anyone out there help? Thank you for your time, Barbara Smith Galt, CA

    1. Email Addresses
    2. Linda Lambert
    3. I've spent the entire day changing/deleting bad email addresses for both this mailing list and the IL GenWeb page. Needless to say, this is very time consuming. I have the following suggestion.. Use an email address that will last. How many addresses have you had in the past year, 2 years, 5 years? Chances are that others cannot reach you because your email address has changed, perhaps several times. Sign up for a free account and then use that address for all genealogy correspondence and then don't change it!!! Keep it!!! Don't rely on the good nature of web page administrators or mailing list administrators to change your records each time you change email addresses. It may mean one email for you, but hours of searching and editing for the web page administrator or mailing list administrator to accommodate just "your" request. In addition, when corresponding with other researchers, be sure to exchange permanent mailing addresses and/or phone numbers in case either of your e-mail addresses change. This will ensure that you will still have a way to contact each other. Linda Mailing List Administrator Effingham County GenWeb Volunteer
