Linda I am researching LOY/PUCKETT/FILES and am interested in hearing from anyone who is doing likewise or has some information. I went to the Barnhill Cemetery and Frame Cemetery and took some pictures of many tombstones. I also just went to Effingham, IL, and saw many Loy tombstones in a cemetery south of town. These are from the IL State Archives and they are free. You can request records on 2 deaths and need to wait until you receive them to request any more. For deaths in counties with small populations or surnames that aren't so common you will probably receive it even if you don't have exact information (year of death will be close enough.
