ROTHROCK, NADING, KNAUSS, BROWN, ESTES, CURTIS, KNODLE, JACKSON, AHFIELD, FORNEY, HEDRICK, HALLAM, KORTGE, OBENCHAIN, VANARSDALE, BOLLINGER: Martin ROTHROCK (1814-1878) married Elizabeth A. ROTHROCK (1822-1886) in 1842 at Edwards Co., IL. ELIZABETH was a second cousin who was taken to Edwards Co., IL by George NADING and his family, who had taken her in when Elizabeth's parents died when she was two. Martin was the son of Joseph ROTHROCK (1785-1868) and Magdalena KNAUSS (1785-1826), both of whom stayed in NC. Martin and Elizabeth are buried at the Walnut Grove Cemetery, near Parkersburg, Richland Co., IL; just above the Edwards Co. IL line. Martin and Elizabeth had eight children (1844-1865), all born in Edwards or Richland Co., IL: i. William Henry ROTHROCK (1844-1865); died during Civil War, buried at National Cemetery, at Nashville, Tennessee. ii. Mary Ann ROTHROCK (1846-???): married George BROWN in 1863 at Edwards Co., IL. Children married into ESTES, CURTIS, KNODLE, JACKSON and AHFIELD families. iii. Eli Sanford ROTHROCK (1849-1926): married Susan FORNEY (1846-1922) in 1870 at West Salem. Had ten children and moved to Fillmore Co., NE in 1876. iv. Jonas ROTHROCK (1851-1937): married Susan Elizabeth (Lizzie) HEDRICK (1856-1941) in 1874 at Richland Co., IL. They had 3 children (1875-1884). Married into HALLAM and KORTGE families. v. Sarah Ellen ROTHROCK (1854-???): married George OBENCHAIN in 1877 at West Salem, Edwards Co., IL. Had four children and moved to NE in 1870s. vi. Martha L. ROTHROCK (1856-???): married Charles VANARSDALE in 1880 at Parksersburg, Richland Co., IL. Lived in FL in later life. vii. Jesse E. ROTHROCK (1862-???): nothing known viii. George Franklin ROTHROCK (1865-1918): married Estelle BOLLINGER in 1888 at Richland Co., IL. Had 7 children and moved to Fillmore Co., NE.
