    1. [ILEDWARD-L] WOODS Family
    2. William WOODS came to Albion from England with his wife and son, Joseph, in 1819. I believe that there were three other sons of William living in Albion at the time or who came soon afterwards: William, Jr. born abt. 1800; George, born abt. 1805; and John, born abt. 1795. They were all farmers. All their wives were born in England also. William WOODS, Jr. married Mary and they had these children: Elizabeth 1839, John 1843, George 1844, Anna 1846, Edward 1848, and twins Charles and Henry1852. George WOODS married Anna. Children were Elizabeth 1834, John 1836, Ann 1837, David 1839, Sarah 1841, George 1844, Gibson 1847, and Ellen 1849. John WOODS married Mary A. and children were Benjamin 1836, Frank 1840, Elizabeth 1842, Mary A. 1844. Joseph WOODS married Elizabeth and their children were Thomas 1834, William 1836, Rebecca 1841, Henry 1843, John 1845, and Martha 1847. There was a Thomas WOODS born 1824 married to Georgianna SPANGLER with children Morris 1845, Charles 1846, and Alfred 1848 who I believe was one of the elder brothers' sons (Not Joseph's). There was also another John WOODS living nearby, also from England. He was a merchant. He may have been related, but I don't believe he was one of the four brothers. He married Elizabeth and children were Ezra 1836, Jessie 1833, Lee 1838, Frank 1840, Julia 1842, Elias 1847, Prudence 1848, and Ford 1849. These WOODS had connections through to the MICHELS, SHEPHERD, and other families who came to IL from Maine. If any of this info. sounds familiar to you, please contact me. I have more info. which I will gladly share. Beth BSmith7439@aol.com
