I am in Peoria, IL. > Sue Beth and Sue, I think that the incorrect birthplace of England for Margaret THOMPSON came about by our MICHELS cousins who are descended from her. They incorrectly assumed that she was a child of the THOMPSON family of Albion who were doctors and had come from England. The Albion THOMPSON family built the 1842 residence which is now the home of the Albion Public Library. I would agree that Margaret was born in IL as her father, Moses THOMPSON, was County Coroner in Edwards Co., IL from 1824-1826. Given that he was here in the 1824-1826 time period, I wonder why he doesn't appear on any census records for Edwards County until 1835? (i.e. 1820, 1825, 1830) Terry Harper
