Hi to everyone on the list! I was away for awhile, but as soon as I returned, I subscribed again to this list. Well, actually, it wasn't this list. I just realized that I mistakenly subsbcribed to a list with the surname "Edwards". I was wondering why I was getting so many requests for people named "Edwards"!! Oh, well, . . . I had sent a note to this list, and I never had any replies. Now I know why!!! Anyway, before I went on vacation, I got a chance to borrow the two volumes of Edwards Co. History via interlibrary loan. I got so much valuable info. and pictures. It was great! I'd like to know if anyone else out there is researching the LORD family of Edwards Co. There were some conflicting details in there, and they directly concern my branch of the LORD, so I'd like to clear it up. The entries concern two LORD women: Sarah Elizabeth, born in 1852, (usually called Elizabeth) and Eliza LORD, born in 1851. Sarah Elizabeth was married to Charles WOODS, and Eliza was married to his twin, Henry WOODS. I'm trying to determine whether they were sisters or cousins. Their parents were reported in different sections as Albert and Mary WOODS, Abner Kern WOODS and Susan or Susannah, and Abner WOODS and Susannah MC MULLEN. To add to the confusion, there was a marriage reported in Scioto Co., OH in Lord, Alexander LORD and Sp : McMullan, Susannah, M : Apr 24, 1845 This LORD family lived first in Ohio, and here's how they appeared on some censuses: 1850 Census, Jefferson Twp., Scioto County, Ohio Lord, A.K., 39 or 29 , laborer, OH " " , Susannah, 31, OH Mc Mullen, Mary, 13, OH " " , Joseph, 11, OH Lord, John, 4, OH " " , Albert, 2, OH " " , John, 24, laborer, OH 1860 Census, Willow Branch Twp., Piatt Co., IL, p. 4 Lord, A.K., 38, farmer, OH Susannah, 42, OH John, 15, OH Albert, 14, OH Eliza J., 11, OH Sarah E., 8, OH Frank, 4, IL I would really appreciate input from anyone with any info. about this family.
