For Terry Harper and anyone else who could help, I have been doing family research for several years now and have traced my roots back into Edwards Co. My ggreat-grandfather was Henry C. Byford and was born in 1826 in Cannon Co. TN but moved to ILL as a young man (and later married Nancy Jane Greathouse). A short time later, Hardy Byford moved to ILL from TN with the rest of his family. I have assumed that Hardy and Henry were father and son but have not been able to prove it. They both owned land there in Edwards Co. in the 1840's 60's. I have both copies of the Edwards Co. Histories but neither are mentioned. Does anyone have any info on these two familes?
