George HAMILTON purchased land in Section 17 of Montgomery township, Owen Co., IN, in 1818 [1818 Land Office at Vincennes, IN, Cert 3654, date of purchase 5 Sep 1818, E½ NE¼ S17 T11N R3W, 80 acres (Montgomery Twp), patented to George HAMILTON of Owen Co, IN, 10 Sep 1825. Originally the land was purchased by William DEVORE of Bracken Co, KY who was 1825 in Monroe Co, IN. He assigned the patent to George HAMILTON 16 Aug 1823. This land was sold to John N.
