Surnames: Stewart, Henthorn, Hanks, Wiles Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lg.2ADE/1176 Message Board Post: I have been researching a David Stewart found in Young America on the 1870 census living w/ sons Perry and Peter (Peter I believe is my g grandfather). Cannot find David on any later census, either in Ill or Ind. This David may be the David Stewart who married Martha Wiles 1841 in Fayette County, Ind. The 1850 census ( Rush County, Ind.) shows David and Martha w/ Marion, David R. and Keziah. On the 1860 census the family is listed as David and his children Marion, Perry, Casiah and Peter in Simms, Edgar, Illinois. No Martha. By 1870 David, Perry and Peter are living in Young America. I believe David Stewart's parents may be David Stewart/Stuart (War of 1812) who married Keziah Taylor in 1814 in Greene County, Ohio, according to the pension papers Keziah filed. The senior David Stewart died in Fayette County, Ind. in 1833. I would like to find any info on David Stewart (bn abt 1820 Ohio) - death info, cemetary, wills, etc.- found in Edgar County and/or info on his children to help verify my family connection. If I am right, Peter of this family is my g granddad and married Sarah Henthorn, 1871 in Paris. Illinois Marriage Index shows Keziah Stewart (sister to Peter?) married William W. Hanks. I have info to share and compare. Thanks! Jean Blaney drblaney@aol.com
