Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lg.2ADE/867.1.2 Message Board Post: The reason I chose your message was because you were discussing Edgar co. My gg grandmother and gg grandfather once called Edgar co. home. Minerva J Ingram and Abraham Thornton were married 12 Jan 1839 in Edgar co. The next record I find is the 1850 census (Edgar co.) where she says she was born in Bullit co.,KY. and that both of her parents were born in Tenn. Abraham says he was born in S.C. but on the census he is listed as Abiah. I do notknow ifAbraham and Abiah or the same person. On the 1860 census there is a Joseph Ingram in Prarie, Edgar co. He was born in 1809 in Ky. On the 1850 census Joseph says he was born in Greene co. Ky. and he has a 17 year old daughter named Isabell. There is also a William Ingram born in 1800 in Hawkins co., Tenn. He has a daughter named Minerva born in 1830 Hawkins, co. There is also an Andrew P Ingram born in 1797 Hawkins co., Tenn. Wheter or not they are related I do not know, but the reoccurrance of names make me think they were relate! d. In the 1850 Census Minerva and Abiah's children were named Oliver P. born 1840; Joseph born 1842 Harriet born 1844 and James A. born 1846. Latter Harriet's name is changed to Ida Isabella. The last record I have of her is the 1880 Polk co., Mo. census where she is listed as living with her daughter Ida.....There are a number of Ingrams married in Edgar co. around the time that Minerva and Abiah lived there. Geo married Malinda Harper April 15,1847; Lucinda Ingram married Jesse Thompson July 18 1840; Arraminda who married Jesse Thompsom Jan 25, 1844(Lucinda must have died.) Nancy Ingram married William Randall July 12, 1834; William married Emaline Simpson March 29, 1847.Elizabeth married James Bonwell March 29, 1850; Christine married Daniel Newcome March 15, 1839; Elizabeth Ann maried Arthur ? November 4, 1843......On Abiah Thornton we were always told they were from Thornton Abbey in England...I have not been able to confirm that....Most of the web sites have Ingram as! a Scotish name, but we were told she was Scandanavian....The truth is I haven't a clue. I am hoping someone familiar with the home turf can clarify some of my questions...I did find two Ingrams in Phelps co., Mo. on the 1860 census(they were a new county) where the Headys finally settled after leaving Ill. However they gave initials which is difficult to trace. One was listed as W.F. born in 1821 Kentucky, and the other is T.W. born in 1819 Kentucky. Again I do not know if there is a relationship with Minerva. The dates of birth are close and they are from Ky is about all I know. I hope you can enlighten me. Jim Heady
