She was the daughter of John W. Hurst and Mary Francis Corn. This family was found in Edgar County Illinois when daughter Artie May Hurst married in 1919 to Gurnie Elmer Lanham. A parent did not sign marriage document, so it is believed Artie May Hurst was over the age of 18, rather than previously mentioned as age 16 in 1921.
