Somewhere, somehow, these 2 families tie into the Dorsey line out of MD, NC & GA. An Elias Baker became the guardian of a John Dorsey at his father, Basil's, death in 1807, Franklin Co. GA. The Baker family & John Dorsey moved to IL, lived there for a number of years & they moved back to GA. The Lowerys were closely connected with this Dorsey family & also the Hanks family. I have that info somewhere but got it off the internet. You might be able to find it & see if that is the link you're looking for. Look also in Hall & White Co, GA, Lincoln Co (& surrounding counties), NC. I'll see if I can find more definitive info.
