He was the son of Charles and Catherine (Clear) Madden, who emigrated from Birr, County Offaly, Ireland, to Castle Fin, Clark County, Illinois, which borders the southern edge of Edgar County. I don't have any information as to whom Daniel married. I do have a genealogy typescript prepared by Marianna Madden in the late 1960s that indicates that it was thought that Daniel Madden moved to Washington, Daviess County, Indiana. However, I have searched through Daviess County records and census data and cannot turn up a Daniel Madden in there. My Daniel Madden was probably born before 1860. He was born in Ireland and came over to the US with his parents and 11 of his 12 siblings, settling in Clark County. The Madden family was strongly Catholic, with many of the females within several generations of the family becoming nuns. Any of this information sound familiar? Any link?
