    1. 1920's Homes for Unwed mothers?
    2. Hello, At a standstill here... Grandmother's maiden name per fathers marriage certificate 1950 is listed as "Artie" Hurst (female) and father was listed as Unknown. Artie Hurst gave birth to Eugene Elmer Landham about 1920-1925 in Chrisman Illinois. Have not found any Hurst-Landham marriage record yet. Artie Hurst (Artie has to be nickname) would have been born 1900-1910, and may have given birth in a home for unwed mothers. There is a mystery here. Does anyone know if there was a place for unwed mothers in 1920 - Edgar County? Told that many siblings in this family and Eugene Elmer was raised by a Wilson or Clark family possible relatives and may have lived in nearby Indiana. Any input appreciated.
