There is a possibility that they went to Illinois. On June 2, 1851, a Noah Clark was sold 80 acres of land in Edgar Co. Here are the particulars: Lot E2SE, Section 18, Township 12N, Range 11W, Meridian 2. Apparently, this Noah had a federal land warrant for the 80 acres, so he paid nothing. Don't know anything else about this Noah. If someone could check the 1860 census to see if this Noah is still there, and the other census info provided, I would appreciate it. Here's the 1850 TN Census info for comparison: CLARK Noah 45 farmer TN Patsey 33 TN George 10 Andrew 9 Wilie 6 Martha 5 Robert 4 John 1 Perhaps someone has come across other info between 1851-60 on this Noah.
