He was a retired farmer. He was born December 28, 1915, in Edgar County, IL, to W.J. Englum and Mary Mattingly Englum. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Phelps Englum; 2 daughters, Agnes Wild of Eugene, OR; and Mary Carolyn Durham, Charleston, IL; one son, William of Paris, IL; one sister, Catherine Crabtree of Paris, IL; and 2 grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, VFM Post 3601, American Legion Post 211, and a veteran of World War II. Mass of Christian Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3601 and American Legion Post 211.
