Looking for information on John K. Harmon, born Paris, Edgar, ILL, 29 Aug 1861, parents/ George Washington Harmon of Indiana, b Indiana 1821? and Martha also of Indiana. According to family records John had two older brothers also born in Paris, Frank b 1853 and Elmer b 1856. Thanks!

The following may be your HARMONs. If so, I can put you in contact with a researcher that has a massive amount of documented information on them. (The earlier HARMONs were fairly well-known Indian fighters in VA ... originally from Germany.) George Washington Harmon, son of Mathias (b: 1774, NC, wife: Mary), b: 1821, prob. in Washington Co, IN, married Martha I. GREEN (b: abt. 1825, IN.) on Dec. 18, 1842. 1850 Washington Co, IN (Posey twp) census shows George, Martha I, along with children: Thomas L., 6; Wm. M., 5; Mary E., 2 and Nimrod, 8/12. Further research added: Violet, b: 1855; Maria, b: 1857 and Harriet, b: 1858. As you can see, your John, Frank and Elmer's birthyears would fit. Quite possibly they've never been found since they were born in IL? While living in Washington Co, IN, they lived near Hardinsburg, but moved to Sullivan Co., IN afterwards. Hope this helps.
