    3. Sandra..My name is Jim Clarkson. I live in Brighton, Michigan. The Whalen name does occur in Nelson county(Bardstown area) Kentucky. I subscribe to that list and see it mentioned often. Aloysius Lewis Brown was my g-g-g-g-grandfather on the maternal side of my family. He was part of the emigration that took place in the 1790s from Maryland to Nelson county, Ky. It was a popular 'staging' area. After a while the families moved on to many states here in the midwest. He led a group of families that settled at The North Arm of the Prairie which is right outside Paris, Illinois; that happened in 1817. I'm sorry that I cannot help you with the names from the cemetery in Edgar county. Good luck..there are many very nice people in that area that will help you.
