Birch is listed in an 1840 state census in Edgar County, Illinois, p. 8, with no township listed. The only 1840 census I have been able to locate is a Revolutionary War pension list, and Wm. Also on Judith Ray, listed as mother-in-law, who is my direct ancestor. Judith Ray was ma to A. B. RAY and moved from Edgar Co, IL after 1850. Does Andrew B Ray appear in 1870 or 1860 Johnson Co, KS census or where did he die? Any help or suggestions appreciated.
