Sampson is the son of Moses and brother of Evan Voyles. James B is my great-grandfather. I was planning a trip to Edgar county, this week to check out cemeterys. Does anyone have a list and address of these cemeterys in Edgar county?
Myrtle (Mertie) Mapes, b 1882, m. George Ross 1899. I'm researching the Ross family of Edgar/Clark/Coles Counties and would like to find descendants of Myrtle and George. I don't know who her parents were--she was born after the 1880 census and married before 1900. I believe they had a son, Henry Ross, b 1902. Linda Dewey San Francisco
I have a Minerva (Ingram) Manly who spent some time in the Jacksonville State Hospital. (mental) Admitted: 21 DEC 1859 Dismissed: 1 MAY 1860 Admitted: 11 DEC 1861 Dismissed: 8 OCT. 1862 Minerva's mother and father (Miller and Rebecca Ingram) were living in Rockford Twp, Bourbon Co., Ks. territory, Pawnee P.O. Pg. 22 in the 1860 Fed. Census. Possibly, Miller and Rebecca came to visit about the time Minerva was dismissed the last time. Rebecca died 16 DEC 1862 and is buried in the Prairie Twp. Chapel Cem. of Scotland, Edgar Co., IL. Can anyone direct me to an address for obtaining information from the admitting book and/or the personal and medical history book for Minerva Manly? ALSO, is there a way for me to get the history of who took care of the expenses and who to contact when Rebecca was buried. I understand the Prairie Cem. was once named "Ingram Cememtery". It has had several names. Thanks for any and all help. This is a very informative mailing list. Dianne Ingram in Oregon __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! I just found the Illinois Archives site for burials of Illinois Civil War Veterans. I've collected much information on burials in the Naperville Cemetery. Reviewing the records of the Cemetery and the GAR Post #386 of Naperville, I've found quite a few more CW veterans who are buried there. Is this information something that should be added to the record data base that you developed for the State Archives? Paul Rickert

You have a beautiful family. I recall that dark hair was rather rare in Drayton Plains. I also remember that Mr. Mapes had mechanical skills and that he had a business in Drayton Plains. My father, Max Taylor, often spoke fondly of him. We lived in Drayton Plains from 1948-1955 and my father managed Hutchinson Trailer Sales businesses (the brand was Pontiac Chief) in Drayton Plains, Royal Oak, and East Lansing. We moved to Flint in 1955 and remained in that area, so I lost touch with Drayton Plains families as I was just 14 at the time. It's such fun to reconnect with those from that area, and I appreciate your response, Patricia. My e-mail is ctaylor74@bellsouth.net -- I'm in Florida, so we're neighbors again! Cordially, Carol

In 1870 she was living with husband Silas and children in Symmes Twp, Edgar Co. In 1877, her husband and family are in Clark Co, and he is married to another woman.
