William H. GORE (b: 1871) married Maryetta SMITH (b: 1879) in Edgar Co, March 8, 1899. She was the daughter of Marshall C. SMITH (b: 1857; d: bef. 1900) and his wife, Margaret/Maggie HUGG (d/o Christian HUGG. I've also seen him referred to Christopher HUGG.) I've lost the GOREs after the 1910 census and Maggie (Hugg) SMITH after 1900. Did she remarry? Does anyone have any information on these families? Thanks. Marsha

I would love to solve an old mystery that if I were on the ground in either county would be easy to accomplish. LYMAN KING died either 1828 or 1838 in Edgar Co. ILL or Broome Co. NY. I would be more convinced of Edgar Co. ILL. I have been given indexes of surnames, but no way as of yet to find him. If it was Edgar Co. ILL it would most likely be Paris township. If Broome Co. most likely it would be Lisle. Can anyone help lay this to rest?? Thanks, John Blair / a ggg grandson

There is a possibility that they went to Illinois. On June 2, 1851, a Noah Clark was sold 80 acres of land in Edgar Co. Here are the particulars: Lot E2SE, Section 18, Township 12N, Range 11W, Meridian 2. Apparently, this Noah had a federal land warrant for the 80 acres, so he paid nothing. Don't know anything else about this Noah. If someone could check the 1860 census to see if this Noah is still there, and the other census info provided, I would appreciate it. Here's the 1850 TN Census info for comparison: CLARK Noah 45 farmer TN Patsey 33 TN George 10 Andrew 9 Wilie 6 Martha 5 Robert 4 John 1 Perhaps someone has come across other info between 1851-60 on this Noah. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !
