    1. McDaniel Family - Harris/Hiddle
    2. I saw the posts on Hattie McDaniel. Does anyone know if she is related to Nancy McDaniel who was married to Dabney Harris? They lived in Lawrence Co IN from about 1830 to abt 1850. Then Dabney must have died. Nancy was on the 1860 in Martin Co IN living with her daughter and had a grandson(?) living with her who was born in IL - his name was George Harris. On 21 Nov 1880, George married Elizabeth Anna Carl in Edgar Co IL. WILLIAM GORE obtained the license for them. The marriage record shows that George's parents were ELIJAH C. HARRIS & SARAH A. HIDDLE. I feel that Elijah Harris could have been a son of Dabney and Nancy. If anyone has any information please contact me. Cathea Curry LaGGato@aol.com

    1. Marriage Records in Courthouse
    2. I have two questions on Edgar Co. IL marriage records. I have an Edgar Co. Illinois marriage (which you can see on the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index, 1763-1900) Newell, David to Doubleday, Rebecca 06/28/1833 1. On this index, after her name is "LA 77" I assume this refers to a License Application. Does anybody know if the License Applications have been filmed? Also, Under Vol/Page is "SA/ 20" Under License No. is "SA 308" 2. Does anybody know what "SA" refers to? I see that Salt Lake has filmed some of the marriage records (Marriage record returns and Marriage records) but the volumes mentioned are 1A and 1B.

She m. Aden BARRETT. You state that you have more info on this line so I won't write too much here. My line continues with their daughter Cynthia Ann BARRETT m. John L. Their daughter Mabel May FAY m. Albert Wayne ARMSTRONG (s/o George P. ARMSTRONG and Alice Elizabeth Nutick) and they were my paternal grandparents. I have a picture of Cynthia Ann Barrett DOUGHTY as a adult woman and pictured with her, seated, is her very old grandmother Mary Ellen STAFFORD ROGERS. My cousin Ruby Simonson-McNeill did most of the original research on the Rogers line. The time I have spent on this part of my family....I've spent working on the McGuire, Nutick, Doughty/Doty and Armstrong lines. But I do believe that I have information on Peleg ROGERS' brother Benjamin ROGERS that you mention in the 1820 Census where you believe Peleg ROGERS is living with him during that time: Benjamin ROGERS b. 1783 in NC. d. 23 Jul 1862, Jefferson Co., IN and is buried in the McHenry Cemetery, Milton, Jefferson, IN. He m. Rachel WALLACE b. 1790 in NC. d. 12 Apr 1852, Jefferson Co., IN and is buried in the same cemetery. Children that I have listed for Benjamin ROGERS and Rachel WALLACE are: 1. John ROGERS 2. Rachel ROGERS 3. Mariah ROGERS 4. Martha Ann ROGERS b: 1809 in Kentucky 5. Samuel ROGERS b: 1813 in Ohio 6. Benjamin ROGERS b: 1822 in Indiana Here is his will: Wills and Administrations Jefferson County, Indiana Rogers, Benjamin Sr. (Book A-248) Will Wr. 17 Apr. 1860. Rec. 5 Aug. 1862. Bed and bed clothes, to my son, John. My dau: Martha; son, Benjamin $75. Remaining to be divided equally between my children. Son, Samuel and my three children, Martha, Rachel and Mariah. He appears in the 1830, 1840, & 1850 Census for Jefferson Co., IN. But as you can see, his son Samuel was b. in OH in 1813 but he appears to have arrived in Indiana by 1822, his son Benjamin being b. that year and in Indiana. Many researchers related to this line seem to think that this ROGERS family came from Rhode Island to North Carolina. ~ Anna Kasper The contact email listed for me is old...please use: irish_maiden_aine@yahoo.com if you would like to contact me.
