Alexander "Alic" Shanks is the younger brother of John Shanks (grandfather to Alfalfa). Alic was born the son of Joseph Shanks and Catharine Sims in Johnson Twp., Clark County 3 Nov 1865. John and Alic moved their families to Edgar Co., about 1910 after Joseph died in 1903. I have a date of death on Alic as Oct 10, 1910, but I don't know where/how and where he is buried. His wife Naomie remarried Elmer Claybaugh in 1913 and she and the four children, Charles, Eddie, Dell, and Fanny are found in Paris in 1920 census records (actually, Charles and Dell are counted twice). Here is what I have on this line - can anyone provide further information on this family? Wayne, Indiana in 1896. I believe his fathers name was William. William was married to Emma McElfatrick. They had 2 sons and I believe he died sometime between 1897-1907.
