Posted on: Edgar Co., IL Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Edgar/324 Surname: Morrison, Jared ------------------------- I am trying to find information regarding Harriet E. Morrison (and her family) who married John L. Jared in Edgar County on June 11,1873, and about Harriet's father, David A. Morrison who I believe was born in 1809, married Catherine Ross, and he died (I think) in 1888. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

I saw your posting & am doing research in Edgar Co. Would it possible to either send either e-mail or regular mail a copy of the article? I also would be interested in knowing more about that paper and any others in the area that might have articles of genealogical interest. How often published, cost, address -- anything that would be of interest or necessary to know. Contact me at the e-mail address below if you need my regular mail address. Thanks Charmaine [email protected]

    3. Hi, Phyllis & Ray, If you'll watch for green street/road signs when in the Paris area of Edgar Co, you can follow Rt 150 E from town, over the railroad overpass, then N /left on 1800th Street to the first crossroads. Turn W /left onto 950th Road. Whalen, I believe lays N of 950th Rd, before Y in road that goes both straight N and angles on NW to the Clinton Road. Cemetery is in pas- ture near Stepp farm, but land is owned by John Watson, who has a tenant farmer. You need to ask permission before enter- ing pasture to get to cemetery. Stepps might be able to tell you who to contact, but I don't find a phone # in 6/00 directory for them, nor for Watson. Cemetery lays in SW quarter NW quarter Section 33 T14N R11W 2nd Principal Meridian, according to our Edgar Co Genealogical Society's Cemetery Directory. You can also find locations for many IL cemeteries on the IL State Genealogical Society's Website at: http//:www.tbox.com/isgs/ But a few of ours have not been updated since more accurate locations have been found. Best wishes to you both from ajb.

    2. Marcia Powell
    3. Posted on: Edgar Co., IL Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Edgar/320 Surname: Powell ------------------------- I am searching for the family of William Lewis Powell and Ephraim Powell who, according to our family records, resided in Hume, Edgar County between the late 1800s and the early 1900s. Please contact me if you know of this line or have a connection to this line of Powells. William Lewis, born between 1851 and 1861 in Wabash County, Indiana, may have been the son of either Samuel Powell, a Baptist Circuit Rider, or Samuel's son Hiram Powell. Ephraim Powell, born in 1854 in Wabash County, Indiana, we believe is Samuel's son with a crippled back who never married.
