You might wish to contact the librarians at: [email protected] I am descended from one of their sons, Solomon Frederick COOK (1846-1925) and his descendants Dottie COOK DAILY (1873-1953), Nelly DAILY SOUTHARD (1902-1960), and Nona SOUTHARD DVORAK. I have only a partial copy of this family history since I was limited to 10 pages by the library. I do not have the information about the other children of Rudolph and Barbara Corce COOK and their descendants, but there are 9 pages of information before Solomon COOK. James married Mary Jane EASTIN 28 September 1862 in Edgar County, IL. He died 1916 in Muskogee County, OK. She died 1919 in Okmulgee County, OK. Their known (to me) children are John W., William, Charles Edward, Sarah, and Van Edgar HAYS. I found an 1880 Arkansas, Crawford County, Vine Prairie Township, household headed by J. B. Hays, age 38, born in TN. Mary Jane, 28 years old born in IL is listed as his wife. Children are William 13, Sarah 10, John W. 8, Walter 6, and Van Edgar 4 all born in IL. This household is found very near those of John Adam RENNELS and Cynthia Jewell (WELLS) Rennels; Isaac K. Wells and Martha Ellen (Eastin) Wells; and Thomas B.Eastin and Ruthie (HIGGENBOTTOM) Eastin. Mary Jane Eastin is the sister of Martha Ellen and Thomas B. Eastin. Cynthia is Isaac and Martha's daughter. Charles Edward HAYS married Suphronia Adeline BUTTRAM 1904 in AR. Their children (known to me) were Nellie, Brady, Ida, Oscar, Clarence, Hagel, Connie, Flossie, Ruby, and Leonard. Both Charles and Suphronia died in the 1940's in California. Charles died in Hanford, Kings County, CA and Suphronia in Santa Clara County, CA.

There's a James M in the Henderson Cook family in 1850 and 1860 in Edgar Co, but I don't know if he's my ggrandfather. The James M. who married in February 1861, in Edgar Co, definitely is my ggrandfather (he also married a Mary). Unfortunately, Edgar Co wasn't listing parents' names at that time. BTW, I don't think I have any German roots on my Cook side.

She was the daughter of John W. Hurst and Mary Francis Corn. This family was found in Edgar County Illinois when daughter Artie May Hurst married in 1919 to Gurnie Elmer Lanham. A parent did not sign marriage document, so it is believed Artie May Hurst was over the age of 18, rather than previously mentioned as age 16 in 1921. Still looking for Hurst connections from Louisville Kentucky.

I have found the marriages of two Charles Starks in Edgar Co in 1860. One marriage was to a Martha Stark ( probably Martha Henson) in May. the other marriage was to an Elizabeth Bartmess in February. I know that Charles Stark and Elizabeth Bartmess moved to Elk City, Kansas and had three sons born there. But who was the other Charles Stark? Did he also move to Kansas? Did he and Martha have a daughter Laura who married Riley Law in Kansas? If not, who were Laura Stark's parents? If anyone can solve this puzzle I would be most grateful. Thanks for any information.
