    1. [ILDUPAGE] Reproducing Family Photos

    3. Dear Listers; I have been collecting family photos for the last two years. Usually when I've made contact with a long lost relative, I'll eventually ask them if they have any pictures of 'Uncle ...... or Aunt ......'. I've had very good luck, and usually the individual will entrust me or my sister with the pictures long enough to scan them. Now, I have access to many printers where I work, but have never been happy with the quality of the pictures when I try to print them out on either the photo paper or other high quality paper. I think with newer pictures it works better, but since these pictures are any where from 50 to 100 years old, they just never come out 'right'. So, what I did was go to Walgreens and look into their picture machine. Armed with a diskette with a couple of pictures save in 'jpg' format I was able to get prints that were as good or better than the originals. One was a family picture, quite small of about 19 people. The clarity was amazing, and at $6.99 a sheet, quite reasonable. A sheet can be 1 8x10, 2 5/7, so on and so forth. I printed 8 to sheet and they still are large enough that you can see the people's faces quite well. I just wanted to share this with all the lists. You may already have discovered this, but just in case, I thought you might need some last minute Christmas ideas. Plus I hear Martha Stewart dedicated one Christmas tree last night to family pictures! As for me, my Uncle Newt is getting a framed picture of himself, and various family members for Christmas. It was taken in 1918, and I think he will be pleasantly surprised!
