Florence, You asked about Lutheran churches in the Itasca area in the 1860s. My g-g-grandparents and g-grandparents belonged to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church on Church Road in Bensenville, IL. That church was founded in 1838 and is the second oldest Lutheran Church in Illinois. In the mid-1850s, Zion's members began to feel that the parish was too large. The congregation was divided into eight congregations, one of which is St. Luke's in Itasca. That may be the one you are looking for. There is also a cemetery associated with each church. I have ancestors buried in both. The information for each church is follows: Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church 865 S. Church Road Bensenville, IL 60106 630-766-1039 St. Luke's 410 S.
