Your reference to William Plum probably explains why the Lombard library is called the Plum library. As far as I know, his house and family are still there. I actually knew one of the Plums, but never connected them with Babcock's Grove. Just as in Wheaton, there are still Wheaton and Gary families, who are descended from the original settlers of the town. In fact, I went to school with several of them in Wheaton.
