Lombard is situated on section seven, being on the west side of the town, and on the site better known to old settlers as Babcock's Grove; but no plat by that name was ever recorded. DuPage and Cook Counties didn't exist for1830 Census. Both existed in 1840 Census and boundaries didn't change from then until today.. Used to go to Lombard to see the lilacs at a park in the spring when I was a kid.. probably the park was named Lilac Park..
