    1. [ILDUPAGE-L] ALLISON A. BRUCE
    2. Bruce Mundy, Esq.
    3. Dear "rooters": Does anyone know a Ray Adkins in the Wheaton/Chicago area whose father-in-law was ALLISON A. BRUCE who died on January 12, 1981 in Wheaton? I have been told by the Hultgren Funeral Home in Wheaton that the death information was furnished by Mr. Adkins. My 80 year old mother-in-law has been searching for her Uncle Allison for years. Through recent orphanage records and the social security death data index, we are quite certain that this is the correct ALLISON BRUCE. So far we haven't been able to find an obit for ALLISON BRUCE which would list living descendants. We think that he had 3 children. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. 3. Hi, Everyone, I got some wonderful news today! I don't know how many of you have ready "Views of Historic Naperville" by Genevieve Towsley (reprints of her articles in the Naperville Sun), but it is such a neat book, full of biographies, histories and diaries. Today I received consent from Sun Publications to republish portions of the book to the DuPage County ALHN site. Of course, I'm starting with my favorite, which is Hannah Ditzler Alspaugh's diary. It is such fascinating reading, I'm going to upload as I chip away at it, and not wait until I'm finished. She includes excerpts from her sister's letters from California (her sister married in 1854 and went to CA with her groom and his family)that are very enlightening. I've been trying to collect some old postcards of DuPage County, but they are like hen's teeth. I've added some of my vintage Chicago cards to the site in the meantime. Someone beat me out of a vintage Naperville card yesterday ($40!), and I e-mailed him and asked, since I'd thrown in the towel, if he would consider scanning the card and sending it to me for the site. He collects Naperville memorabilia and said he would scan some things. It was a great day! I'm still trying to get to those 1857 town histories, because they are so wonderfully detailed. I've done all the histories from 1874 and the early town officers, but the rest is sitting for now while I work on Hannah's diary. If anyone has any old letters, documents, diaries, bios, etc., that you'd like to contribute, please let me know! 1. [ILDUPAGE-L] BRUCE FAMILY LINEAGE
    2. Bruce Mundy, Esq.
    3. Hello Rooters: We are desperately searching for information regarding my husband's great uncle whose name was ALLISON BRUCE. According to the orphanage records, he was born July, 1892 in New York City. I found on the Social Security Death Data Index an ALLISON BRUCE, who was born July 14, 1892 and died July, 1981 in Wheaton, Dupage Co., Illinois. This gentleman's SS card was issued in New York before 1951. Does anyone have any avenues of looking up information for me in Wheaton, Dupage County? Your help would certainly be appreciated. None of our family has been in contact with him since the 1930's in New York City. Obits, CD's of vital statistics - anything? Thanks. Janis Mundy Reno, Nevada

    3. Actually, the results probably will be better if you can scan the originals and send them as jpg files. If you have the software to do so, reduce the size of the image and crop out any matting around the picture. Then save as a .jpg file. If you will, give me a little warning before you send them, so I'll know what's coming through, and send each one separately as an attachment. Thanks a lot!
