Clinton Paper 5-31-1870 Page 3 Accidental Shooting - On last Saturday Afternoon, as two sons of Cornelius Sheehy, living south of this city, were all shooting blackbirds, the eldest, aged about 13, had nearly all of one side of his face blown off by the accidental discharge of his gun. It seems that he had discharged one barrel of his gun and was engaged in reloading, when the little brother in playing with the trigger of the other barrel, discharged it, the contents entering the right side of the face of the older brother, tearing out his teeth and jaw, breaking the cheek bone, and destroying one eye. The boy was alive yesterday, but there was little hope of his recovery.
