    3. Article in Clinton Paper - 7-5-1870 DEATH BY KEROSENE A little daughter of Mrs. GARRIGAU, living in the north part of the city, was fatally burned by the explosion of kerosene last Thursday evening, and died at 9 o'clock Friday morning. It seems that she was alone in the house and attempted to kindle a fire by pouring coal oil from a can into the stove. The oil ignited and running up into the can exploded it, throwing the burning fluid over the girl, burning her face and breast in a horrible manner, and causing her death in a few hours. After all that has been said about the danger of using coal oil in kindling fires, or handling it near a fire, we should think that people would learn to use precaution. Kerosene should never be used, under any circumstances, to kindle fires; for although no accident may occur with careful hands, children will imitate it, with the result of the given above. Have a Great Day :-) Lacinda [email protected] Page me on ICQ # 9870890 Family Tree Project http://www.geocities.com/~lacinda2 Join the Illinois Roots, Beckham, or Roth Mailing Lists http://www.geocities.com/~lacinda2/maillist.htm Post a Message in The Forum http://www.InsideTheWeb.com/messageboard/mbs.cgi?acct=mb220110
