For those planning to visit Rose Cemetery in the near future, the following may be of help to you. Last Thursday morning's torrential rain washed out the Salt Creek Bridge just North of Rose Cemetery. Over 5" fell in a few hours, and although Rose Cemetery is high and dry, the surrounding area of Creek Township is definitely not, nor for that matter is Eastern Texas Township, where over 4" fell. Rose Cemetery was about in the center of the isolated thunderstorm - surrounding areas got much less than an inch. This means that the most direct route from Clinton & the nearest highway (i.e., the road from the North) is closed near the cemetery. Nevertheless, one can still get to Rose Cemetery from either the South or the East (from Lane). Should anyone need more specific directions, feel free to reply and indicate which direction you will be coming from.
