Searching for info on these Vances from Pendleton County, was VA/ later and now is WV, who supposedly at one time were in DeWitt County, ILL. I would love to contact descendants of the following: Hiram Vance, Pendleton County, VA/WV, By 1876 Hiram Vance died in Dewillt County, ILL. age 80 yrs, 2 months 15 days, and was buried in Johnson Cemetery. Children of Hiram: Elias, b. 12/21/1827 in Pendleton Co., VA/WV, d. 12/26/1904 in Illinois m. 11/2/1853 to Mary A. J. Simpson Perry, b. ca 1839 Pendleton County, d. 7/23/1908, Illinois, m. 10/10/1864 to Mary Jane Waybright. Hiram's brother Solomon Vance, b. in Pendleton Co, VA/WV m. ca 1848 Rachel Davis, born 6, Nov. 1823, Pendleton County, WV, daughtter of James Davis, They moved to McLean County, ILL in 1856. Rachel died 11 March 1866, age 42 yrs, 4 mo., 5 days. Solomon died 13 Dec. 1872, age 71 yrs, 8 m., 12 days. Both were buried in Johnson Cemetery in DeWitt Co., ILL. had children:Christina m. Simon Hedrick, James m. Nancy Fuller, Talmadge, Rebecca m. G. P. Spratt, Martha m. John Ertle, Levi. Children of Hiram's brother Robert who died in WV: John Vance m. Elizabeth Hensley in Pendleton Co., VA/WV. They moved to Vermillion Co., ILL. Jesse Vance, m. 1st 15 Sept. 1836 to Hannah Conrod (Conrad) b. 1 Aug 1816, daughter of Jacob Conrod and Magdalena Hedrick Miller. Hannah died in 1846 and Jesse married on 8 Oct. 1847 Barbara Rexrode, b. 1831, daughter of Sue Helmick and ? Rexrode. Between 1858 and 1860 Jesse moved to DeWitt Co. where he died 14 Aug. 1860. Barbara died in 1904, both buried in Johnson Cemetery, DeWitt Co., ILL. Jesse had 13 children most if not all went to Illinois. They were: Franklin, Sylvanus, Pleasant, Deniza, David, Jesse (by 1st wife), Catherine, Robert, Susannah, John, Isabel (Bell), Arbelan (Arbelia, Arbella), and Adelia (Della). Phoebe Jane who married (1) John (Job) Davis also moved to Illinois Lemuel Vance m. Mahala Idelman moved to Illinois, Mary m. Job Teeter, Jesse Roy also moved to Ill. Newphew Wilson who married Mary Magdalene Harper also moved to Illinois. Hiram's son, Levi who married Mary J. Buckbee moved to Illinois. Nancy Vance who married William Simpson also moved to Illinois; not sure if she was Hiram's daughter or niece.
