I have received a treasure box of old photographs, including the wedding photo of John B. and Adora (McArthur) Morris taken in Springfield OH in 1868 and an individual portrait photo of John B. One of the children's photos could be one of their daughters. I have not found any descendants of John and Adora ... does anyone connect with the following? ....... or does anyone have any clues? JOHN B. MORRIS b 21 July 1839 Harmony Twp., Clark Co., OH, s/o James and Martha (Henry) Morris. John grew up on the family farm in Harmony Twp; his father died when he was 7, but his mother and older brothers kept the farm going. John enlisted in the OH VOLS (don't know which unit), fought in the Civil War, returned to Clark Co. and m ADORA McARTHUR in 1868. They moved to DeWitt Co., IL where he farmed; he died 20 January 1885 in DeWitt Co., IL He and Adora had 6 children; Adora and the children returned to OH after his death ... and that's where my info ends. Can anyone steer me to descendants of any of the following children? McArthur Morris b Feb 1870 Barnett Twp., DeWitt Co., IL Curtis Morris b c 1872 DeWitt Co., IL Martha Morris b c 1873 " " m Unknown MORGAN Olive Morris b c 1875 " " Bessie Morris b c 1877 " " m Unknown BIDWELL William H. Morris b c 1879 " " Also in the box of photos was one of John's mother, Martha "Patsy" Henry Morris (d/o William Henry and Elizabeth Johnson) taken when she was in her 80's ... I'd kill anyone who took my picture when I was that old, but I have it anyone ... she was once young and beautiful with masses of red hair, it is said! Michelle Rush/St. Charles, IL [email protected]
