With many thanks to Rootsweb and List Owners: I would like to share with you the information I have compiled from National Archives microfilm reels regarding the personal data of 1,691 enlisted soldiers who served in our very young U.S. Army, between 1835 & 1846. These men came from a multitude of locales, including Europe and Canada. All served various amounts of time in Western New York before their enlistment expired, or, were sent elsewhere, to camps and forts scattered across the states and territories. It is without doubt, that descendants of these men encompass the globe. Are you related to one? Interested subscribers to ILDEWITT-L should send an email to: [email protected] For the subject, please put INTERESTED! In the text, I would just like to know your name and your location, please.
